[h1]opinions[e]
this page will contain my shitty opinions on programming, ai, projects, os, and more.
[h2]1. how *ware should be and why?[e]
i believe all *ware should be secure, simple, small, and portable, or atleast 3 of those at once.
what i am about to say i understand will not work for everything; i also believe *ware should should adhere to several standards such as cat-v, suckless, netbsd, and plan9.
examples of harmful *ware and good *ware include:
openssl - harmful, alternatives include libressl and bearssl.
[br]
glibc - harmful, alternatives include musl, dietlibc, and uclibc.
[br]
llvm - harmful, alternatives include gcc/binutils (also harmful but significantly less then llvm), tcc, and cproc/qbe/scc.
[br]
rust - harmful, alternatives include c, vlang, go, asm, and c++ (also harmful but significantly less then rust).
[br]
wlroots - harmful, alternatives include swc, neuswc, tinyx, xlibre.
[br]
xorg - harmful, alternatives include swc, neuswc, tinyx, xlibre.
[h2]2. what os to use and why?[e]
well first of all do not use windows, macos is slightly more acceptable but i would recommend a linux distro of your choice adhering to your use case that generically follows opinion 1., or a bsd like netbsd or openbsd.
to sum it up:
dont use - windows, freebsd, macos.
[br]
do use - linux, netbsd, openbsd, plan9, 9front, ironclad.
