mp info <pkg[:slot]>
[e]

[h2]description[e]

prints one port's full picture in a single call: name, slot (if not the default), active [code]pkg_slot_use[e] composition with each flag's current state, any [code]SYSROOT=[e] pin, license, version, declared deps ([code]pkg_deps[e]/[code]pkg_bdepend[e]/[code]pkg_rdepend[e]), the EFFECTIVE deps too if USE flags have changed them from the raw declaration, tags, [code]pkg_pref[e], conflicts, keywords, USE flags with current state (marked with [code]*[e] when enabled, same convention [see name="reference/commands/use"]use[e] itself prints), buildlink entries (concrete slotted deps this package was actually built against), hold status/reason, and finally whether it's installed (and its installed version, and whether it's requested).

status is checked against the RIGHT db -- if the package (or an ancestor of it) is routed into a sysroot via [code]SYSROOT=[e], info swaps into that sysroot's own db for the status line, so it never misreports a sysroot-installed package as "not installed" against the default root's db.

a [code]name:slot[e] argument (e.g. what [see name="reference/commands/slots"]mp slots[e] itself prints) picks a specific raw slot's port directory to read from, when more than one exists.
