[h2]description[e]
prints every file an installed package's manifest claims, as full paths under the live prefix. a bare name for a statically slotted package resolves to whichever slot is actually installed (manifests are written under the exact, possibly slotted, canon).
a package with no manifest at all -- not installed, or installed before manifest tracking existed -- prints a note (to stderr) and exits 0 rather than an error; there's a real difference between "nothing to show" and "this failed".
